1) Why did you choose to join the SAJC’s Writer’s Ink competition?
Well I chose to join for the passion of writing poems… Ok not really, just a spur of the moment thing.
2) What inspires you?
Music- The simple reason why I decided to do poetry, because I love writing lyrics to songs.
3) Tell us a little about what you’re writing/planning to write(:
My lawyer says I can’t disclose much information but I would say it would border on familiarity ![]()
4) Any hints or tips for your fellow writers?
I believe life is a story, every day, every year, every moment is a chapter. Write about life, your life
(This does not apply to GP)
Thank you Oliver, i hope the magic you work with your words is as good as your magician skills(:

more about Writer’s Ink Writing Competition!
May 12th, 2009and here’s a note from Benedict!
Dear participants of the SAJC Writing Competition 09!
I am gonna spend a few moments recounting to you an experience today- that hopefully would inspire those of you in the poetry category!
Today, during a certain lecture (shh…), I was rather inspired to write a poem.
You see, the thing is, I never know what I’ll finish with when I start writing- because I start writing because I am inspired to.
Inspired by what, you might ask…can I tell you something?
I really don’t know what inspires me in those moments, I just know something’s got to be put down on paper, and I commit myself to it.
And guess what?
I came up with a piece (that didn’t match the title I gave it beforehand at all!) entitled “Dreaming”- that I realized bordered on familiarity.
I’ll put it up on my Live Journal Blog @ truewords07.livejournal.com- so you guys can view it.
I believe you guys will come up with even better pieces…
And on that note,
I lay my pen.
Benedict

Life Concert 2009
May 7th, 2009LIFECON Extravaganza,
3rd April 2009.
Extravagant is apt because some 900 SAJC students, teachers, staff, and guests turned up on a fine Friday evening to lavish their praises unto God.
The annual Life Concert is not a standalone event, but rather the grand finale to Easter Week, a yearly evangelistic event led by our college’s very own Saints for Christ. The celebrations were accompanied by a skit cum video presentation, exhibitions and gifts prepared by SFC, and these served as an impetus to the build-up of anticipation to LifeCon for Christian Saints, and sparked the curiosity or awareness amongst non-Christians.
LifeCon itself differed from last year’s in that audience participation was better encouraged through the incorporation of simple dance steps into the song This is How We Overcome for the audience to follow, much to the delight of the latter who keenly cooperated. The concert was not merely shallow song and dance, but rather, a massive gathering of youth in the faith who bond through the fervent celebration of God! Non-Christians are all the more encouraged to attend to receive deeper understanding of the Christian faith, as so passionately demonstrated by the performers and the rest of the congregation through music and testimonials. It is hoped that non-Christians would be inspired by the enthusiasm of their peers to “try God” in their lives.
Kudos to past and present SFC members, the school mentors and our counterparts in Church of the Resurrection for planning and staging Easter Week and LifeCon with such admirable dedication.
As cliché as it sounds, let us be enthused by the success of Easter Week to embrace God as a college.
